Note the colorful graphic design on the bottom of the interior, as well. This was a presentation box, that contained bottles of the famous whisky as a gift box. Hand made in Scotland and dating from the 1920s-30s.The company was founded by William Teacher, who began selling his own whisky blends in 1830. In 1832, he started to sell his blended Scotch from his wife’s grocery store in Glasgow. William Teacher died in 1876 and left the brand to his two sons, Adam and William Jr, who moved operations from Glasgow to St. Enoch where the business remained until 1991. Nail construction and original brass hinges. Very sturdy. No cracks or warping to the wood.
Measures 4.5 inches tall, 10.5 inches deep and 16.75 inches long. Wonderful finish to the exterior wood. A great collectible from Scotland! Very functional for storing papers, photos, etc.
