Offered for your consideration is a pair of vintage
GRUNDIG
310mm x 195mm (12 x 8 inch nominal) Alnico magnet wide-range woofers
, manufactured in West Germany c.1965.  These drivers were removed from a GRUNDIG vacuum tube console stereo by the original owner about 25 years ago and boxed for storage.  They’re the largest oval drivers I’ve seen.
So, please take a look at my large photos, the measurements, and read the remaining description to decide if these superb drivers are correct for your needs.
These oval GRUNDIG woofers are in clean, excellent condition. They have structurally perfect paper cones, but the voice coil dustcaps and flange gaskets are foam and have dried up.  However, the cone suspension is old-style, integral with cone accordion-type which is permanent.  Plus, the anodized steel baskets are also in great shape with no scratches, dings, or oxidation.  Also, the plastic magnet covers have no flaws.   And, the former owner left a few inches of wire attached to the +/- terminals in lieu of de-soldering.  Overall, these woofers are remarkably well-preserved!
Most importantly, they’ve been fully tested and sound terrific as you’d expect from GRUNDIG—fast, detailed midrange, highs deep into treble, and notable bass output for the platform type.  Plus, I tested their DC resistance at a
closely
-matched 3.0-3.1Ω, respectively, consistent with a nominal 4 ohm driver rating (GRUNDIG also quoted a 5Ω rating at times).  Lastly, the baskets measure 12⅛” x 7¾”, they stand 3⅞” tall, and the mounting holes are spaced 10⅛” long-way / 5⅞” short-way / 11⅝” on the diagonal, center-to-center.
