3 inch cone tweeter
removed from my
301 Series II
speakers, manufactured in 1987. This is the same tweeter model
BOSE
used in the later
301 Series III
, the
601 Series II
, and possibly other models in this production era. The buyer is responsible for accurately verifying this tweeter’s suitability for any other models.

This
BOSE
tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. The sturdy paper cone is perfect and so is the voice coil dustcap. Also, the steel basket is finished in black enamel and is in great shape as well. Lastly, I left several inches of +/- input wire attached to the
BOSE
-style +/- ‘spike’ terminals for your convenience when splicing in to your speaker(s)—be sure to note the polarity/wire colors when removing your old one(s)—a procedure best done with the woofer out of the cabinet. Overall, this tweeter is exceptionally well preserved.
Most importantly, it sounds terrific with strong, clear output. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 3.7Ω, consistent with a nominal 4 ohm driver rating (
BOSE
301’s have two of these tweeters series-wired for a cumulative net nominal 8 ohm load). Lastly, the basket measures 3” wide and it stands just over 1¼” tall. As you know, it mounts with a machine screw threaded into the magnet cover and attached to a plastic mount bracket on the cabinet.
