Condition: This pair of University 1B-8A re-entrant horn loudspeakers, dating from around 1966, is in very good physical and excellent electro-mechanical condition. These speakers were always used indoors, as the finish and decals are in excellent condition, showing no degredation of the finish. Both speakers have high-output, low distortion sound with no issues -- a hallmark of the excellent University Sound engineering. Both speaker's copper voice coils are well within specification for impedance measurements for their 8-ohm ratings. The aluminum horn assemblies are in good condition with minor nicks and dings, and the rubber grommet protecting the leadwires is missing on one speaker, but is easily replaced. The wall or ceiling brackets, OMNI-LOCK plates, are no longer with the speakers, but the main hold-down portion attached to the drivers themselves is still intact, and the speakers can be easily adapted to any sort of bracket.
