    Description

    I hope it can find a good home. Someone that seriously collects these antique rarities might feel it is a treasure despite current condition (and postage costs to get it delivered). Possible it is a unique item with no exact duplicates known to remain in existence, certainly scarce and hard to find in any condition.
    I believe the story is this was covered in paper (I scraped off most of what little remained of the paper) and used as a tinder box on the old farmstead where found.  Evidently it got too close to the fire at one time.
    Yes. the sixth picture shows a burnt hole in the box.
    Then after the wood burning whatever was upgraded this was left in storage.  That storage eventually leaked and furthered the damage and outright destroyed of a lot of the old things from the farm including this crate.  So this is a true barn rescue.
    Box is approximately 19 x 13 x 12 plus a smidgen on each.  Shipping box will be 22 x 14 x 14 and 11 pounds.  Means sipping to California will be painful.  Ohio only moderately irritating.  Zones 1 - 4 from my ZIP of 48871 will require Priority.  Zone 5 - 9 will permit Retail Ground Parcel Post which will lessen the pain somewhat.  Can do local pickup as well.  Another possibility, although somewhat drastic, is to tear the box down and ship it flat.
    Note: 08/06/2021 Some history of the Brown company and their most successful product, Old Prentice.  Eventually the company became the recognizable giant Brown-Forman company.
