    Offered for your consideration is a matched pair of
    PIONEER
    4 inch full-range drivers
    . These capable drivers were original equipment in a pair of PIONEER S-CR4000-K single-driver surround speakers, manufactured c.2000.
    So, please take a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if these speakers are correct for your needs.
    These PIONEER full-range drivers are in clean, excellent condition. The sturdy paper cones are in perfect shape and so are the voice coil dustcaps. Plus, the anodized steel baskets have no dents, scratches, or oxidation. Also, the surrounds are
    permanent
    textile instead of the failure-prone foam that was still being used on many speakers when these were made. And, the terminals are keyed for polarity (larger one is +) and have never been soldered on the spades. Overall, these drivers are very well preserved.
    They’ve been fully tested and sound great with detailed midrange, highs approaching the threshold of audibility, and good bass extension for the platform size. Plus, they’re rated at a nominal 16 ohms, and DC resistance tested at a well-matched 14.6 and 14.9Ω, respectively. Lastly, the baskets measure 4⅛” wide (5” corner-to-corner), they stand roughly 1½”, and the mounting holes are spaced 3¼” adjacent / 4⅝” diagonal apart, c-t-c.
    These are a nice find for someone that has PIONEER, or another maker’s, surround speakers with blown or damaged 4” full-range drivers. Plus, they’re ready for action in your next homebrew speaker project!
