Description
Original small Buick enamel radiator or stoplight badge emblem insignia nameplate logo. The Buick was introduced in 1903 in Flint, MI and was one of the original makes forming General Motors. Online research indicates this type of emblem was used from 1913 to 1928 but I do not know exact year, model, or application for this example. These emblems came in two sizes, this is the smaller size. Badges like these were made using the champleve or guilloche process of heat bonding melted glass to a copper base which was then plated. 1 13/16" wide by 1 7/16" high, blue and white enamel with nickel plating. No makers mark visible. Excellent used condition with no major wear or damage. All enamel is intact and perfect except for one very tiny chip, original plating shows some wear. The mounting cup is intact and useable. Great for your collection, use as is on a driver or easily restored. U.S. buyers will pay .50 First Class shipping, International shipping cost will vary based on location. NO RESERVE. Please see our other auctions for more emblems and radiator badges.
