FABULOUS PAIR OF VINTAGE ORIGINAL ARGENTINE GAUCHO COWBOY, COWGIRL ALPACA GERMAN SILVER SPURS.

ALPACA SILVER
is much like sterling silver in many respects and in some arenas a better choice over sterling silver.
ALPACA is a common name for German silver usually nickel, copper and zinc alloy.
It is a hard, strong and a very durable metal combination that wears exceptionally well. It has several favorable features over sterling silver such as: it doesn’t tarnish as quickly as sterling, it is harder than sterling and it doesn’t scratch like sterling!
These Argentine spurs are done in the style of the "Espuela Grande";  these are
amazingly attractive with intricate ornate carvings with floral motif and the Argentine Gaucho head done with excellent craftsmanship
.
As close as possible; approximate measurements are: Heel band opening widest at chain point is 3 1/2”; the Rowel Diameter is 3” and there are 23 spike points.
These Argentine Gaucho spurs were bought in Argentina; they are used with beautiful even pleasing patina, the engraving is stunningly beautiful; a bit worn in the inside of one over the other one. They were sold and appear to be Alpaca Silver. There are no markings found.
