The measurement is performed in three steps:
1. Insert the strap – the device will turn on automatically
2. Make a measurement – put a drop of blood on it and the meter will take the right amount
3. Read the result – the meter will turn itself off after a few minutes
The VivaChek ™ Ino System is designed to measure glucose in fresh capillary blood and is calibrated to plasma. The VivaChek ™ Ino result is reported by measuring the electrical current produced by the reaction of glucose with an enzyme placed on the test strip electrode. The blood sample is automatically drawn into the test strip by capillary action. Glucose contained in the sample reacts with the glucose enzyme contained in the test strip by generating electrons, i.e. generating an amount of electricity appropriate to the glucose concentration. This result is displayed on the meter.
The VivaChek ™ Ino system is intended for in-vitro control of people with diabetes. It can be used both for patient self-monitoring at home and for professional use in healthcare facilities. The system should not be used to diagnose diabetes.
