BOSE
2 inch full-range driver
removed from a ‘direct-reflecting’ Jewel Cube speaker, manufactured 2006.
This driver is only suitable for the Jewel Cube speakers; it is not the right size for regular Acoustimass cubes and double-cubes
.
So, please have a look at the large photos I’ve taken and read the remaining description to decide if this capable driver is correct for your needs.
This
BOSE
driver is in clean, near excellent condition. The sturdy textured paper cone is flawless and the voice coil dustcap is free of dents but has a few light creases. Plus, the surround is
permanent
coated textile. Also, the galvanized steel basket is in great shape with only some small marks on the black enamel face. And, I left a few inches of lead wire attached to the
BOSE
-style +/- ‘spike’ terminals (positive has the black plastic supporting the terminal) for your convenience in retrofitting to your speaker. Overall, this driver is very well preserved.
Most importantly, this
BOSE
driver was recently tested and sounds great with strong and clear output and fast, detailed midrange. Plus, its DC resistance tested at 4.0Ω consistent with a nominal 4 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the basket measures 2 ⅟16” wide, it stands about 1 3/16” tall, and the mount holes are spaced 1 15/16” adjacent / 2½” diagonal apart, c-t-c.
So, if you a blown or damaged driver in your Jewel Cube speaker, you’ve found the right listing—your speaker will sound perfect again!
