    Description

    This listing is for an antique, circa 1900, Green River Whiskey Tin Litho serving tray.  The tray says on it "SHE WAS BRED IN OLD KENTUCKY" with the whiskey jug on the horse saying " GREEN RIVER THE WHISKEY WITHOUT A HEADACHE".  Under that saying, in smaller lettering, is: "COPYRIGHT OWNED BY J. W. McCULLOCH" and under that, in even smaller lettering, is "CHAS. W. SHONK CO LITHO CHICAGO NOF7821".  It is round being 12" in diameter x 1 1/4"deep.
    Chas W. Shonk Company is known as one of the best producers of trays. The Chas W Shonk trays are high quality and very detailed. In 1901, the American Can Company located in Manhattan, NY acquired the Chas W. Shonk Company and renamed it as the Shonk Work in 1906.
