    Description

    Handsome Shell Oil Company Bicentennial road map of the Southeast United States, printed more than 45 years ago.
    It opens to 27" x 26½" and there is good detail on old highway alignments,with cartography by H.M. Gousha.
    The coverage area includes Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and southern Pennsylvania.
    There are inset plans of major metropolitan areas on the reverse side, including Miami, Orlando, Tampa-St. Petersburg, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Baltimore, and Philadelphia.
    The map celebrates the 1976 United States Bicentennial, America's 200th birthday. It was published by Shell in 1975 and is dated in the legend. The code number in the lower margin is 8-WW.
